At a ceremony or conference the screen is not decoration. It shows names, photos, slides or a live feed of the stage. If it is too small or the content is not prepared, the back rows simply do not see.
Size follows viewing distance
The question is whether the person furthest away can read the text without effort.
Pixel pitch
A lower pitch means a sharper image up close. It matters when people stand near the screen, less when the stage is far away.
Preparing content
- Build slides in the screen's aspect ratio to avoid black bars or cropping.
- Fewer words, larger text, light text on a dark background.
- Check that videos have sound and that it goes to the sound system.
- Put everything in one file in running order.
The only test that works is to run all content on the screen itself before the audience arrives.
